Naveen Patnaik inaugurates new Krushi Bhawan

All the wastewater generated will be recycled and reused.Around 400 farmers from different parts of the state were present during the inauguration of the new Krushi Bhawan. BHUBANESWAR: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday inaugurated the new state-of-the-art Krushi Bhawan that has been constructed with some unique features.Built over an area of 1.3 lakh square feet, the multi-story building has been constructed by taking inspiration from ikat patterns of Odisha handlooms. Odisha provides food grains to the entire country. Odisha is the third largest contributor to the public distribution system of our country,” said Naveen.There is a demonstration garden that highlights the use of irrigation channels, rainwater harvesting , soil remediation, and organic agricultural practices to improve crop yields. The bricks used are made from different colors of clay that symbolize the diversity of soils in different regions of the state.The ground floor of the building comprises a learning center, auditorium, training rooms, garden, public plaza, crop calendar, open theatre and exhibition hall while the agriculture department and two directorates will function from the remaining three floors..
