Car rental service to debut during Hockey World Cup

BHUBANESWAR: The state transport authority (STA) has engaged a firm that will provide self-drive car rental service to visitors at the ensuing Men’s Hockey World Cup here. “We have been informed by the company that it will mobilize around 30 cars during the Men’s Hockey World Cup,” Panda said. The hockey event will kickstart at Kalinga Stadium here from November 28 to December 16.To ensure hassle-free mobility of tourists during the Hockey World Cup, the state government decided to mobilize around 300 new city buses on different routes. Currently, around 115 city buses are plying on different routes in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri.The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) too has decided to start eco-friendly public cycle-sharing system in the city ahead of Men’s Hockey World Cup. The company will collect Rs 5,000 as security deposit from customers and charge around Rs 70 for an hour’s drive..
