BHUBANESWAR: Carcass of a 10-year-old-leopard was found near Rengali reservoir in Khamar forest range in Angul district on Wednesday. The carcass will be burnt following the due procedure in presence of senior officers.The animal was flowing in the reservoir water and some fishermen spotted it. The animal might have swept by the current of Brahmani river and then drowned, suspect officials.Ramakanta Sethy, range officer, Khamar said, “The carcass of the male leopard was found on the river-bed. They then informed the forest officials following which a team rushed to the site.Forest officials said the leopard being sighted in the area indicates that there is a good population of the territorial animal in the periphery. The carcass has been sent for autopsy after which reason can be known”..
