BHUBANESWAR: New escalators and four elevators or lifts will come up at Bhubaneswar railway station to help persons with disabilities, pregnant women, ill and senior citizens for comfortable visit to platforms while boarding their trains.These facilities will come up on the sides of the 6-meter wide new foot over bridge (FOB). Now the new FOB connecting 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 platforms has no escalator or elevators.Presently, escalators are available in the first FOB on Cuttack-side and lifts are available on the second FOB. But lifts will be fitted next year,” he added.He said the passengers like senior citizens, ill and PwD persons, can take benefit of these amenities in the station.
