Odisha police arrested Sukanta Behera aged 35 on charges of raping a female doctor while delivering food parcels at her home on Tuesday night in the Angul district of Odisha. The son of a Dhaba owner Sukant Behera raped a 32-year-old doctor while delivering food parcels to his house in the Chhendipara area.
As per reports, the survivor works in a health centre and was staying with her brother in the official quarters allotted by the centre.
Police said she was alone in her official quarters when the incident took place.
According to reports, the brother of the victim doctor had dinner at a local Dhaba on Tuesday night.
He sent a food parcel for his sister in the hands of the Dhaba owner`s child from here.
When Behera reached the government quarters at 11 pm with food, the female doctor was alone in the quarters.
Finding the lady doctor alone in the quarter, he allegedly raped her.
The doctor and his brother have lodged an FIR at Chhendipara police station after the incident.
Based on the complaint, Behera was arrested and the doctor was sent for medical examination on Wednesday.
