In a first, Odisha to provide filtered drinking water from taps in Puri

The Odisha government says that this project will benefit the local people of Puri as well as about 20 million tourists.

Now 24 hours of drinking water will be available from the government tap in Puri, Odisha.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday virtually inaugurated the `Drink from Tap` project.

This project has been started under Sujal Mission.

In an official statement, he said that Puri is the first city in the country to implement the Drink-from-Tap project.

Drinking water fountains have been installed at various places in the city so that no traveller has to buy or carry bottled water.
