9 new faces in Punjab cabinet; portfolio allocation deferred due to resentment

CHANDIGARH: The 13-month-old Captain Amarinder Singh-led Congress government in Punjab on Saturday inducted nine new ministers in its cabinet but postponed the allotment of their portfolios to Sunday. With this, the cabinet has now touched the maximum permitted limit of 18 ministers (15%) out of the total 117 Punjab legislators. There are 77 Congress MLAs and many are capable.
