INLD-BSP alliance is mismatch: Union minister Birender Singh

CHANDIGARH: Union minister of Steel Birender Singh Doomarkhan on Tuesday termed the INLD-BSP alliance as a mismatch of two political fronts Singh has said that history witnessed the two parties striking an alliance earlier also, but it could not succeed and fell a victim to their respective egos. Funds for development purposes would now be directly credited to their bank accounts. Similarly, e-panchayats system would not only ensure transparency but would also accelerate the pace of development.Dismissing the prospects of formation of a third front at the national level as bleak, he said political parties having different thoughts could not give strong leadership to the nation.Earlier, while speaking at a programme organized on the National Panchayati Raj day, Birender Singh said the Centre had taken a significant decision to further strengthen the panchayats. The alliance struck by the two parties now will also meet the same fate.Interacting with media persons in Fatehabad, Birender Singh said since the vote bank of INLD and BSP could not be mutually transferred, the alliance was doomed to failure.Asked to comment on the resistance of some sarpanches to the e-panchayats system, he said initially problems were faced in understanding the system which was a big reform.There was negative impact of the Value Added Tax (VAT) also when introduced but VAT finally emerged as a strong system of revenue growth..
