24 hrs after cafe attack, cops yet to make arrests

CHANDIGARH: More than 24 hours after 20 men armed with sticks and iron rods vandalised a cafe in Sector 9, police are yet to catch the accused.The accused broke flower vases and furniture at BoomBox Cafe on Monday night. Krishan Kumar, DSP, central division, said vehicles used by the miscreants have been identified and the accused would be arrested soon. Poonam Dilawari, station house officer, Sector 3, reached the spot, but the accused had already fled.Police registered a case against unknown persons and started investigation. Bouncers ran away, while women guests hid in auto-rickshaws parked near the club.Police said the miscreants carried out the attack as the bouncers had denied them entry two days back..
