Chandigarh’s sole Bangkok flight stops

CHANDIGARH: Air India has announced to discontinue its Bangkok flight permanently from the city. The Chandigarh airport handles nearly 37 commercial flights daily, including international flights to Dubai and Sharjah. Instead of resuming the suspended flight, the decision was taken to stop it.Air India airport manager M R Jindal said, “The orders have been received for permanent discontinuation of the flight. I have no idea about the reasons.” The flight was started in December 2017.Sources said the flight occupancy had dropped to 70%, which is low as far as viability is concerned.
