Panchkula smells a rat in monkey-releasing move

PANCHKULA: High drama was witnessed when residents claimed they caught staff of the Chandigarh wildlife department releasing three monkeys from a van in Saketri village on Monday morning. Residents said they asked the officials not to release monkeys in Saketri. A copy of the letter was also forwarded to the Panchkula police commissioner.Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula administrations have in the past accused each other of releasing stray cattle and dogs into each other’s areas. We have to cross the territory of Saketri to reach the forest as there is no other way..
