Former bank manager booked for committing fraud

MOHALI: The police here have booked a former manager of ICICI bank 's Mullanpur branch for allegedly withdrawing Rs 1.36 crore from the saving accounts of 12 customers. During his five-year stint as bank manager at ICICI's Mullanpur branch, the accused had withdrawn the said amount from 12 savings accounts. The accused was fired as the fraud came to light.The SHO said a case has been registered under relevant sections of the IPC and the IT Act. A case of fraud has been registered against the man. Moreover, charges under relevant sections of the IT Act have been pressed against him at the Mullanpur police station.According to the police, the accused has been identified as Kulpreet Singh Makkar of Zirakpur..
