Five smart projects get push as UT floats tenders

CHANDIGARH: Tenders worth Rs 700 crore for five crucial projects were advertised by Chandigarh Smart City Limited on Monday.The move came after new UT adviser Manoj Kumar Parida told the stakeholders to speed up the works while attending his first meeting with the Smart City board.These projects include upgradation of five existing sewage treatment plants (STPs) and construction of a new STP at an estimated cost of Rs 511 crore; installation of 13,700 smart water meters costing Rs 24 crore in Manimajra; creation of 617 docking locations for public bike sharing project worth Rs 20 crore; setting up of animal carcass incineration plant at Dadumajra for Rs 5 crore and 24x7 water supply in Manimajra with an estimated cost of Rs 140 crore.During the meeting, Smart City Ltd CEO and commissioner KK Yadav gave a brief presentation of the projects funded under the Smart City Mission..
