CHANDIGARH: Panjab University has slipped in the Times Higher Education (THE) Emerging Economies ranking yet again. However, PU had notched up its performance from rank 130 in 2017 to rank 135 in THE Emerging Economies University Ranking, 2018. Consequently, the amount received by funding projects has decreased from Rs 84 crore to Rs 25 crore in the 2017-18 session. On January 7, TOI reported that the number of sponsored research projects at Panjab University has reduced by more than 50% in the 2017-18 session.
