Morni gang-rape case: Court summons SIT member

PANCHKULA: The Panchkula district court on Wednesday summoned a member of the special investigating team (SIT) constituted by Haryana Police to probe the Morni gang-rape case . The incident had taken place in July last year.Additional district and sessions judge, Narender Sura, taking cognizance of the flaws in the investigation with respect to the chargesheet filed by the police in the case, observed that police diary of the case has been changed and inserted later.The court also observed that the victim has also alleged rape against two police officials, but there is no investigation about their role nor the CCTV footage from the guest house has been obtained by the SIT.The court summoned inspector Aman Kumar, member of the SIT, to appear in person on Thursday, instead of SP Anshu Singla, head of the SIT, as she has now been transferred from Panchkula.On Tuesday, the Punjab and Haryana High Court had summoned Haryana DGP BS Sandhu for an explanation regarding the alleged flaws in the investigation into Morni gang-rape case..
