Taking up the petition, Justice Tejinder Singh Dhindsa also put the Punjab Bureau of Investigation on notice. Taking up the petition filed against the State of Punjab and other respondents by Karn Singh through counsel Pradeep Virk, Justice Dhindsa also fixed September 11 as the next date of hearing in the matter. The notice came after Virk, among other things, placed reliance on an audio clip in an attempt to substantiate his contentions. Directions were also sought to hand over the investigation of the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation..
