On the eve of the election, the newly-formed UT Chandigarh Cricketers Association has complained to the Electoral Officer that UTCA officials were ignoring the Lodha Committee recommendations and the BCCI constitution for the election. They further alleged that the date of election was announced without a 15-day notice, which is required as per the guidelines of BCCI and the Societies Act (1968), under which UTCA is registered. As per the election circular, the notice of election was issued on September 13, last date of filing nominations was September 16, and the last date of withdrawing nominations was September 17. The association alleged that this office-bearer, Subhash Mahajan, is promoting his son in administration: “The person has already turned 70 and still representing the UTCA..
