OBC panel summons GMCH Director

Tribune News ServiceChandigarh December 2The National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) has issued summons to the Director of the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Sector 32 on a notice regarding non-allotment of seats in the institute to OBC students as per the provision of the reservation. The notice issued on November 27 has directed him to appear in person before the commission on December 8 failing which the panel will be at the liberty to exercise the powers of the civil court under clause (8) of Article 33B of the constitution. A complain submitted by Ajay Prajapati coordinator Bhartiya Prajapati Heroes Organisation (BPHO) to the NCBC reads “We found no reservation for OBC students in the prospectus. On behalf of the OBC community Bhartiya Prajapati Heroes Organisation you are requested to do the needful for its welfare and implement the reservation as per the rule of the Government of India from the current session.”On October 26 the hospital authorities had written to Prajapati stating “Your request regarding implementation of the OBC reservation for admission to various BSc paramedical courses has been considered by the authorities but not acceded to.”.
