In his complaint to the police Dr Ranjit Singh had stated that gold jewellery was stolen from locker number 16 of room number 8 Gyane OT-1 between March 20 and April 11. The police said the jewellery was found in a box kept in the OT. The police suspect that the person who had stolen the jewellery kept it back after getting to know that an FIR was registered.
