He said as per the state government's guidelines Independence Day would be celebrated across the state amid safety measures and crowd restrictions due to the pandemic. Taking stock of the arrangements for the event and witnessing the full-dress rehearsal Dayalan said owing to the Covid crisis the I-Day celebrations would be restricted to hoisting the national flag followed by an address by the chief guest and prize distribution. He said no public gathering would be held on the occasion and no schoolchildren would be involved in the event.
