Haryana fixes pay for extension lecturers in government colleges

CHANDIGARH: Haryana government has decided to fix the remuneration of extension lecturers engaged in government colleges in the state at Rs 25,000 per month. Extension lecturers are being appointed in colleges until regular appointments are made to ensure that the teaching work is not hampered, he said. He said the extension lecturers would be engaged for one academic session or till the joining of regular assistant professors or associate professors on appointment or transfer, whichever was earlier. Apart from teaching, they would also perform other official duties as per requirement of the college The extension lecturers would be entitled to 12 casual leaves a year, that is, one per calendar month, for any personal reason. Besides, they will be given teaching work as per university calendar and norms of the state government.Haryana education minister Ram Bilas Sharma said on Saturday that chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar had approved a proposal to this effect in view of the long-pending demand of extension lecturers..
