Attendance shortage: IIT-M student kills self

CHENNAI: A final year ocean engineering student at IIT-Madras committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling of his hostel room on Saturday.The student has been identified as Shahal Kormath, 23, hailing from Kerala . He didn't leave any suicide note.According to police, Shahal committed suicide as he feared he would not be allowed to appear for the final year exam since he had attendance shortage.
