"Open trays and containers, tyres and pots were found in several areas which were checked for source reduction," the officer added. "Schools and industries, besides office premises, are being cleaned and checked for mosquito breeding. Mass programmes for source reduction and educating the public in nearby houses within the 500m radius were conducted," said an official. "When dengue cases surfaced in these divisions, intensive work was carried out including fogging and spraying of mosquito larvicide. As children have been found more susceptible to infections, at ward-level checks have been intensified in clearing school premises," the official added..
