NAGAPATTINAM: Kizhvelur police personnel in Nagapattinam district have registered a case against a union secretary of ruling AIADMK for assaulting a woman Village Administrative Officer ( VAO ) during cyclone relief works. Apparently, as Selvi was replying the AIADMK man, sources said that Siva assaulted and verbally abused the VAO. Based on the complaint, police said that a case under six IPC sections including IPC 354 was registered against the AIADMK functionary. On Friday evening, the VAO Selvi was overseeing food preparation works for the people evacuated after Gaja cyclone’s landfall and were accommodated in a government school in the village.
