CHENNAI: Metropolitan Transport Corporation MTC ) on Monday felicitated a bus crew for returning a passenger 's bag containing Rs 2.47 lakh in cash.According to a press release, on Saturday, the said crew started from Anna Nagar (West) bus depot and continued operations along their scheduled route (Red Hills Bus Terminus to Vandalur Zoo).Around 11pm, conductor Syed Ismail found a bag in one of the rear end seats. MTC managing director A Anbu has assured them they will be awarded at the forthcoming Republic Day ceremony here.The police were yet to identify the passenger who left the bag in the bus. He immediately alerted the driver, Dilli.When they opened it, they were shocked to find out a bunch of currency notes. Soon after the day's work, they arrived at the local police station (Thirumangalam) and informed them about it and handed over the bag to them, the release added.Appreciating their honesty, a felicitation programme was organised for the duo..
