4 killed, 35 injured in 3 accidents at Vellore

VELLORE: Four people, including a six-month-old girl were killed and 35 injured in three separate accidents that took place across the district on Wednesday.In an accident near Gudiyatham, 29-year-old Leyakath Ali, a resident of Vellore , along with his wife Dhaslin Ghouse, 25, and six-month-old girl Rajiya were hit by a speeding truck head-on while they were on their way to vaccinate the child at a nearby hospital. A case has been registered and investigations are on. The Natrampalli police officials are investigating the accident.Around 35 passengers, including 20 school students, travelling on a minibus were injured after the bus lost control near a narrow turn and fell into 5-ft slop at Pakkam village near Gudiyatham on Wednesday morning.Police said, the private minibus was plying the passengers from Krishnapuram to Gudiyatham. Leyakath and Rajiya were killed on the spot, while Dhaslin sustained severe injuries and was admitted to Gudiyatham government hospital.In another accident at Natrampalli near Tirupattur, two youths were killed after an unidentified vehicle rammed into their two-wheeler on the rear side.The deceased were identified as J Raj Kumar, 22, and S Vignesh, 21, both hailed from Gudiyatham and worked at a private firm near Natrampalli, police said.The incident took place around 2am when the two were returning home from work..
