MADURAI: Two children drowned in a pond near Surandai in Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu on Sunday evening.The deceased have been identified as G Karan, 7, of Sendhamaram village and G Venkatesh, 11, of Duraisamipuram. The family members started searching for them.On being alerted by some villagers who spotted the children’s dresses on the banks of a small pond, the family members rushed there and began searches. They were Class II and Class VI students.Venkatesh had come to his relative’s house recently. Both the children were playing near the house on Sunday evening.Later, they could not be found there.
