CHENNAI: Police on Thursday arrested history-sheeter who earned the sobriquet ‘psycho’ Vimal for the cold-blooded murder of a police head constable in 2013.He had come out of jail on parole recently and had gone underground to evade arrest when a police team acting on a tip-off that he had robbed a man of his cell phone at V M Garden, Ice House, cornered Vimal, 28. He tried to attack them and escape but was overpowered.In December 2015 too, Vimal had attacked policemen when they trapped him at Ice House and arrested him for the murder of a construction worker, Sivalingam, 35, a resident of Padi Pudhu Nagar in Anna Nagar West Extension, during a funeral procession on May 26, 2014. Vimal and five others killed Sivalingam for dancing in the funeral ceremony despite their warning him not to, police said.A year earlier, Vimal killed police head constable C Thiyagarajan, 48, of the crime wing of the Kotturpuram police.Thiyagarajan had gone to Vimal’s house to question him in connection with a case, when the notorious burglar slashed him in the neck with a pair of scissors ..
