Chennai Central station gets monumental flag

CHENNAI: The first monumental national flag in the Chennai Division of Southern Railway was hoisted at Chennai Central railway station on Friday.Southern Railway general manager R K Kulshrestha hoisted the flag in the presence of divisional railway manager Naveen Gulati and others. In addition to these railway stations, a monumental national flag has been provided at Signal & Telecommunication Workshop in Podanur. The flag is fluttering at a height of 100 feet.As many as 75 major stations across the country will get such monumental flags , as per the orders of the railway ministry.In Southern Railway, Coimbatore, Madurai, Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam South and Kozhikode have already been provided with monumental flags. Chennai Egmore and Thrissur will get the flags soon..
