Cognizant: DMK for CBI probing officials' role

CHENNAI: The DMK on Monday demanded a CBI probe into corruption charges levelled against some Tamil Nadu government officials by Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS) in a US court.In a statement, DMK president M K Stalin said CTS had revealed that it had paid Rs 26 crore to some officials in the Tamil Nadu government. The case has brought shame to all Tamil citizens living in various countries and in India," said Stalin.CTS had submitted to the US court footages of video conferences as proof for paying bribe to Tamil Nadu officials. "Even though officials are blamed, the bribe money would not have changed hands without the knowledge or the involvement of the then ministers of various departments. The then ministers in charge of various departments should be blamed for it," said Stalin. The officials’ role might have been only to collect money..
