CHENNAI: A 22-year-old ITI student in Chennai was beaten up by a group of men when he walked down a road here wearing a burqa , as challenged by his girlfriend. They stopped him and beat him up before taking him to the police station.Later, police let him go. The girl had promised to kiss him if he completed the task.When he was at Vasudevapuram near Ice House, which is two streets away from a police station, locals noticed him and found something odd in the way the ‘burqa-clad woman’ walked. The shades he wore added to their suspicion.
