CHENNAI: G Prakash IAS, who took over as the commissioner of the Greater Chennai Corporation on Thursday, held a meeting with representatives of political parties informing and educating them about the Madras high court order on illegal hoardings and banners The meeting assumes significance as it was held ahead of the Lok Sabha elections during which political parties erect several hoardings.Prakash said political banners would be allowed only as per the court directions -- based on the width of the road and on the condition that it would not hamper movement of vehicles and pedestrians.
