Woman detained for attacking policewoman in Chennai

CHENNAI: A woman lawyer was booked for attacking a woman traffic police constable after she was stopped for not wearing a helmet while riding a two-wheeler at Mylapore on Saturday.The lawyer, Usha, 25 was stopped by an SI with the Mylapore traffic wing, Kumaran, and asked to pay ?100 as fine for not wearing a helmet. Usha then tore up the receipt and began abusing the cop and refused to pay the fine.The SI alerted the police control room and a police woman constable was sent to the spot. Kanchana sustained minor injuries in the attack and underwent treatment at government Royapettah hospital.Police have detained Usha for an inquiry based on a complaint filed by the SI..
