Lockdown extended in Tamil Nadu till August 31

The Tamil Nadu government has extended the lockdown across the state till August 31.

The decision was taken by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami after a meeting with district collectors and health experts.

A complete lockdown will be observed every Sunday.

The e-pass system, which is used by private vehicles for inter-district travel, will be continued till August 31.

The government has extended by an hour, till 7 pm, the timing of all shops and marketplaces.

Night curfew will remain in place from 9 pm onward.

Schools and colleges will remain closed until further notice.
