Covid-19 update: Tamil Nadu reported 5,337 new cases on Tuesday

Tamil Nadu recorded 5337 positive cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the state tally to 5,52,674.

Among these, Chennai reported 989 positive cases, bringing the city’s total to 1,57,614.

Tamil Nadu recorded 76 deaths on Tuesday, putting the state toll at 8947.

69 of them had succumbed due to comorbidities.

As of Tuesday, the number of active COVID-19 cases in Tamil Nadu is 46,350.

Till date, 3,33,187 males, 2,19,457 females and 30 transgenders have tested positive for the virus in the state.
