Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisami on Friday mourned the death of legendary singer SP Balasubhramanyam saying his demise is a great loss to the film and music fraternity.

Legendary playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam died in a Chennai hospital on September 25 at the age of 74.
The official statement from MGM Healthcare in Chennai said that despite maximal life support measures, the singer died of a cardio-respiratory arrest.
He passed away on September 25 at 1:04pm.
The singer had been admitted at MGM Healthcare since August 5 after he tested positive for coronavirus.
He tested negative for Covid-19 on September 5.

`Puratchithalaivar MGR was very particular that only SPB should sing the `Aayiram Nilave Vaa` song in his film, he was impressed with his skills that much.
A multi-faceted personality, SP Balasubhramanyam`s only competitor was him.
I offer my deep condolences to his family and friends,` Edappadi said.
