Cyclone Beruvi to make landfall yellow alert for south TN News Today

Chennai: The existing Depression over southeast and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal has intensified into a cyclonic storm Beruvi and is expected to make landfall in the mainland between Kanyakumari and Pamban in south Tamilnadu . Following the development the Met office has issued yellow alert for South Tamilnadu and South Kerala coasts for today and on 4 December and red alert on 3 December. For North TN Puducherry and Karaikal and North Kerala and Mahe and South Coastal Andhra Pradesh yellow alert has been issued till 4 December. South Kerala is expected to bear the brunt of the weather system in the form of extreme heavy rainfall strong wind and rough sea conditions. Under the influence of the storm heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with isolated extremely heavy falls is likely over southern TN districts of Kanniyakumari Tirunelveli Thoothukudi Ramanathapuram Tenkasi and Sivagangai today..
