Chennai: The cyclonic storm 'Burevi' is expected to show its impact on south Tamilnadu coastal districts from today noon. After having crossed the Sri Lankan coast it has moved nearly west-northwestwards to emerge into Gulf of Mannar and adjoining Comorin area. The Cyclonic Storm with wind speed of 70-80 gusting to 90 kmph would be centered very close to Pamban by today noon. The Met office said extremely heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Ramanathapuram Sivaganga Thoothukudi Tirunelveli Thenkasi and Kanyakumari districts and heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places over Pudukottai Thanjavur Tiruvarur Nagapattinam Villupuram Cuddalore Mayiladuthurai districts and Puducherry Karaikal area and Kerala. Heavy rain is also likely to occur at isolated places in Kancheepuram and Chengalpattu districts..
