A press release said during the year 2020 1129 railway accident cases were reported in Railway Police Tamilnadu as against 2502 cases in the year 2018 and 2600 cases in 2019. Due to the efforts taken by the officers of Railway Police railway accidents were reduced by more than 55 per cent in the year 2020 compared to previous years. The accidental deaths in the year 2020 were also reduced by 57 per cent.
