Chennai: New Covid-19 guidelines in TN from today, details of exemptions and curbs

A huge crowd was seen on the streets of Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Trichy and other cities in view of the new guidelines coming into force.

Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary Rajiv Ranjan said in an order that all the state government offices will start functioning from Thursday with a staff strength of 50 % for a fortnight.

According to the order attendance of employees of secretaries of governments, heads of departments, district collectors, will be done.

The shift will be scheduled on alternate days or once in three days as per the requirement of the workload of the employees.

Private offices will also have to work with a 50 % workforce.

Public transport, railways, metro rail, public and private buses will operate with 50 % capacity.

Grocery shops (standalone) will be allowed to operate till 12 o`clock at night.
