Six youths have been arrested for allegedly cutting a birthday cake with a Machete in the Kannagi Nagar area of the city.
Sunil`s birthday was being celebrated on Sunday in the Housing Board quarter of Kannagi Nagar.
During this, Sunil cut the cake with a knife.
A video of the birthday celebration was also made, which was shared on social media.
The arrested accused have been identified as Sunil (19), Naveen Kumar (19), Appu (18), Dinesh (19), Rajesh (18) and Karthik alias Bidi, police said on Tuesday.
The police registered a case based on the complaint of Yajneswaran, a resident of Kannagi Nagar and arrested the accused.
Police said that a case has been registered against the youths for using a deadly weapon.
The accused also played loud music during the party and a case has been registered for creating nuisance as well.
