The Tamil Nadu government has revoked its earlier order and decided not to conduct entrance exams for admission to class 11 in the state.

Instead, the government will increase the number of seats in government and government-aided schools by 10-15 percent.

If a large number of applications are received for a particular stream in class 11th, the commissioner of the school education department said that class 9th marks can be seen.

The admission process for TN HSC+1 or Class 11 will start in the third week of June as per the conditions prevailing in the state.

The exact schedule will be shared by TN DGE in due course.

On Thursday, the government had allowed schools to conduct entrance exams for admission to class 11, as the class 10 exam or TN SSLC exam 2021 was earlier cancelled due to COVID.

The mode for which they receive the maximum number of applications was to be followed by the schools.

The education department had earlier announced that schools can conduct exams if the number of applications is high.

But now this notification has been withdrawn.
