Two workers die in TN fireworks unit accident

MADURAI: Two men died and a woman suffered injuries in an accident at a fireworks manufacturing unit near Sattur in Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu on Saturday.Devibala Fireworks Unit is situated at Vaniyampatti near Elayirampannai and used to manufacture fancy type fireworks like flower pots and chakars employing people from villages surrounding Elayirampannai.When the shift began in the morning, a blast occurred in one of the rooms reducing it to rubble.Two workers -- M Sekar, 50, of Vallampatti and V Ganesan, 50, of Nadusoorankudi -- died on the spot while A Marieammal, 35,of Anbinagaram suffered injuries..
