‘Run shuttle services to Doddabetta Peak’

Officials said that during the weekends, on an average, more than 250 cars alone make their way to the peak from the main Doddabetta Junction. more-inThough only 2.6 km away from the main road, the road between the Doddabetta Junction to the main peak remains extremely difficult for motorists to use, prompting activists to call on the Tourism and Forest departments to only allow shuttle services through the stretch. Though tourists want a better road to the peak, the Forest Department believes that work on a new road will lead to more disturbance to local wildlife in the area. “They should also look into repairing sections of the road that are badly damaged and begin shuttle services, trying to get as many tourists as possible to use them so that the disturbance to wildlife will be reduced,” he said.
