Nagarajan told The Hindu that the police would install 250 cameras across the city. The cameras will be set up near colleges and schools, places of worship, commercial areas, and key areas where women would generally fear to commute alone. Mr.

Nagarajan inaugurated two initiatives of the police which included cashless collection of fines for violations of motor vehicle rules, and a modern control room set up at the City Police Commissioner’s office. “The fines thus collected will be transferred to an account in SBI and later to the treasury,” said SBI Assistant General Manager M.J.
