Officials seal 14 Tasmac bars

Coimbatore: At least 14 bars attached to Tasmac outlets in the north zone were sealed on Tuesday after license holders refused to pay the monthly tender amount. Each shop has to pay a tender amount based on its revenue from the shop and the bar attached to it, separately. The district administration has plans to take a similar drive across the south zone where Tasmac shops owe it around Rs 1.25 crore in dues. However, they were not paying the amount due for the bars as they wanted to make more profit,” Balasubramaniam said.During the drive, six Tasmac shop contractors settled their dues as and collected receipts for the same.
