Coimbatore govt arts college students stage protest seeking better facilities at hostel

COIMBATORE: More than 100 students of the Government Arts College in Coimbatore, who stay in the college hostel at Race Course, on Monday staged a protest in front of the college demanding better facilities at the hostel.Students, who gathered to protest in front of the college, said toilets at the hostel were not cleaned properly. People in-charge of the hostel said they got the toilets and bathrooms cleaned regularly.When contacted, principal of the college K Chitra said the students had represented issues regarding the hostel infrastructure to her. The college management has agreed to take care of issues which can be done by the college, such as placing television, water dispensers and maintaining the ground and using it for sports activities,” she said.
