Summary:

Coimbatore: Six students from the Information Technology department of Sri Krishna College of Technology (SKCT) at Kovaipudur came second in the 36-hour Smart Odisha Hackathon held on November 13 and 14. The distance between the cart and the track is preset in the device. They designed a small battery-operated four-wheeled cart with ultrasonic sensors near the two front wheels. The team took up solving the problem of detecting cracks on railway tracks using internet of things (IoT). The cart runs on the track while the sensors send high frequency sound waves, which hit the track and are reflected back to a receiver in the cart..
