The Thadagam police registered a man missing case on October 22.Preliminary investigations revealed that Jayavenu had gone to his relative Suresh’s farmland at Varapalayam along with another relative Rajesh of Palanigoundenpudur to have drinks. In a fit of rage, Rajesh murdered Jayavenu using wooden logs and dumped the body in an abandoned well. The case was registered by the Thudiyalur police in 2006. Jayavenu was the urban secretary of Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) of Era.Police said Jayavenu had travelled to Coimbatore in a bus to appear before the court on October 1.
