Coimbatore: A 39-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for murdering a his friend for allegedly stealing Rs 25 from him on Sunday.The arrested has been identified as V Arunkumar, a daily wage labourer, of Pannimadai. When Arunkumar woke up, he found that Anandakumar had stolen Rs 25 from his pocket.In a fit of rage, Arunkumar bludgeoned Anandakumar to death with a heavy stone. He bludgeonedto death his friend G Anandakumar, 33, of Pappanaickenpalayam, who was an earthmover driver.According to police, Anandakumar was found murdered near a temple at Pappanaickenpalayam around 11.30am on Sunday. The Thadagam police registered a case and formed a special team to nab the accused.The team cracked the case on Tuesday with the arrest of Arunkumar. Police said Anandakumar had borrowed Rs 100 from Arunkumar a week ago for consuming liquor.On Sunday, Anandakumar had gone to the temple area and demanded money from Arunkumar to consume liquor.Later, both consumed liquor and passed out..
